PdfWiseAI separates local transformations from AI document chat so you can choose the appropriate feature.
Local PDF transformations
Merging, splitting, rotating, compressing, converting, extracting text, creating Markdown and other editing operations run in your browser. The selected source file is not uploaded for these transformations.
AI document chat
Document chat sends the extracted text required for your question, the question and a limited conversation history through the server to the AI service. The complete PDF binary is not required.
Limits and analytics
Files are limited to 60 MB. PdfWiseAI uses self-hosted aggregate analytics that are separate from PDF processing and are not intended to inspect document contents.
Your choices
Use local tools for transformations, avoid AI chat for information that should not be sent remotely and remove unnecessary confidential information before analysis.
Check the workflow before using sensitive documents
- Use a harmless sample file first and confirm the expected output.
- Prefer local transformations when no AI analysis is needed.
- Follow your organization’s security, legal and records policies.
- Keep originals until the generated file has been reviewed.
Local processing reduces document transfer, but it is not a certification of compliance with HIPAA, attorney-client duties or another regulatory framework.
